Maundy Thursday...

Maundy comes from the Latin word "mandatum" meaning command. In John 13 we receive the words of Christ, "A new commandment I give unto you". Today we commemorate the Last Supper and receive the Eucharist. "Do this in remembrance of me".

After the supper, Jesus washes the feet of His disciples and prepares them to continue His work. Before His betrayal, he walks to the garden to pray and in agony asks "Father, let this cup pass from me...but not my will but Thine be done". He knows death is near and yet He continues toward it without flinching...
