Take Care

I saw this picture and the accompanying Bible verse earlier today:

He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." Jeremiah 17:8

And then read this quote by St. Augustine: "Take care of your body as if you were going to live forever; take care of your soul as if you were going to die tomorrow."

And they connected. The picture showing the tree by the water as a human body with roots in the earth. Deeply planted and drawing nourishment for physical health. The arms reaching heavenward. Can you see the longing for connection with God?

We are "in between"...the earth, our physical home created by God our Father and heaven, our spiritual home created by God our Father.

This may seem to be pretty abstract...perhaps you don't see the connection...and I haven't fully formed it yet. This is definitely something that needs to germinate...there may be more on this later...
